Red Rocks, located just outside Las Vegas, is a world-class bouldering destination known for its striking Aztec sandstone formations and diverse climbing challenges. The rock offers exceptional friction and unique hold shapes, ranging from slopers to crisp edges, making it ideal for technical and powerful climbing. Kraft Boulders is the most popular sector, with problems from V0 to V12, while Gateway Canyon and Black Velvet Canyon house some of the hardest boulders in the U.S., including the legendary Return of the Sleepwalker (V17). The scenic desert landscape adds to the appeal, creating an unforgettable climbing experience.

The best season for bouldering in Red Rocks runs from October to April, when temperatures are cool, and conditions are prime for sending. Winters can be cold at night but provide excellent daytime climbing, especially in sunny areas like Kraft Boulders. While spring and fall offer perfect weather, late spring can get hot quickly. Due to the sandstone’s porous nature, it's crucial to avoid climbing after rain, as the rock becomes fragile and prone to breaking. With a mix of accessible problems and cutting-edge lines, Red Rocks remains a must-visit for boulderers of all levels.
